Girls on the go

Sadly, with the weather getting rapidly cooler and the sunny days fading, I'll be putting my beloved scooter into storage for the season. I suppose if I really had some cajones I could ride it year-round, but that would require some heavy-duty coveralls (Carharts and work gloves, anyone?) that I'm just not willing to bust out.

But a girl can still dream, and evidently I have been, since these are three images of absolutely fab girls on the go that I bookmarked recently:

How stylin' is this scooter fashionista? If only I looked so glam. Instead, I rock a bobble-head helmet in lieu of this chic hat. Safety first, right?

Forget the limo - this is my kind of wedding transportation (other than wedding bikes of course). Wee vintage cars are always my fave.

And as much as I love to hate her, Olivia Palermo really is lovely. Though I refuse to believe she's actually going to ride that bicycle in those shoes.

How do you get around? (That sounded wrong.) Fall is still a nice time for bikes and walks in the crunchy leaves before the weather turns cold and bitter and I practically run to my car each morning. I must remind myself to take advantage and be my own chic girl on the go while I still can...

Have a great weekend!

Doves, it's been grand, but I'm off for a girls' weekend in New York. We're truly taking advantage of the Columbus Day hoiday and staying through Monday, so we'll have an entire extra morning in the city. Woohoo! I doubt we'll actually be riding bikes around town like this adorable girl, but it seemed like such a fun (and fashionable, in this pic!) way to flit about the city that I couldn't not include it.

If we're lucky, we'll see fall in full force like this:

Though I'd even settle for moody evenings like this:

Either way, I know I'll have a great time with friends, running around the city, eating, shopping, and talk, talk, talking. Oh and did I mention eating? Can't wait!

Hope you have a great weekend. Since we're staying in the city an extra day, I'll see you back here Tuesday!

xoxo, r.

Beautiful bike hanger

Say bye-bye to the days of simply leaning your bike up against a wall (ours are jammed into corners), only to have it fall over inconveniently, or hanging your bike on those industrial yellow hooks to get it out of the way. The bike shelf from Knife & Saw is an elegant take on getting your bikes off the floor, but with a stylish and functional touch.

The hanger is plenty sturdy as it's suspended on a solid steel rod mount, the top can act as a shelf, and the gorgeous solid wood finish is an asset, not an eyesore.

The bike shelf is pretty spendy at $270 or $300, depending on the wood (ash or walnut, respectively), but it's quite lovely... B, wanna take on a little construction project? If so, I'll take two, please. ;)

Originally spotted on pretty pretty paper.

Bicycle built for two

While we're on this wedding idea kick (stop sweating, B, it's just a quick trip!), here's one more thing I just had to share.

Isn't there something so sweet about including a bicycle in a wedding?

I'm not sure what it is - whether it's the down home-y-ness or the quaint feeling or just because I'm kind of an outdoorsy girl - but I think they're so adorable.

(It doesn't hurt that these people are model-perfect):

See? Cute, I tell ya!

That concludes the wedding portion of our program. Posts will now return to your normally scheduled content (or whatever you want to call the odd menagerie of things I usually post here!). ;)

Ring a ding, bike with basket

It's beautiful out today! I'm stuck inside working, but wouldn't you love to be out riding a pretty blue bike like this?

I love the pretty aqua color and the basket on the front. I'd take it for a spin, buy some flowers from the farmers market and put them in the basket - sounds like a sweet Friday, right? All that bicycle needs is a bell (or is that what's on the handle bar and I'm just missing it?).

Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday!

Another busy, busy day. I gotta run, but wanted to say hello and happy Friday! The sun is shining and I've got a scooter all prepped to go for the weekend. I certainly can't complain. :) I hope you have a fabulous weekend and see you back here Monday!

And in case you're feeling less bubble-gum-sunshine-y and more edgy, I'll leave you with this pic of someone's bad-ass grandma:

Isn't she cool?

Photo from The Sartorialist of course.

Give me Liberty...of London

The one good thing about my slacking yesterday is that I got to check out the new Liberty of London collection for Target (which you can check out in its entirety here). I've been getting tweets and seeing blog posts all over the place about how the LoL goods have been sold out or totally picked over in Targets across the country in the one day since their debut on Sunday, but my Annapolis Target seemed to have a decent amount of stuff.

I wasn't too impressed with the stuff when I saw it online, but it all turned out to be a lot nicer in real life. I was super proud of myself for walking out with only one item in hand (woohoo, budget!) - this chemise in case you're interested - but I was tempted to scoop up a lot more.

This bedding was gorgeous and silky smooth:

My Target didn't have any of the bicycles, but I love this beach cruiser in floral:

More cute bedding, all styled up:

(Though I wouldn't make B sleep in something this girly...)

This little girl's romper is so stinkin' cute:

I know the print on this dress isn't looking too hot in the online photo, but it was pretty in real life. The cut was really flattering once the belt was cinched in, and I was totally into the neckline, which closed with a simple button on the left shoulder. Totally cute, but overall wasn't the best for me and my "strong" shoulders...

This blouse also looks hideous in this photo, but it was sweet and spring-y in real life. The fabric on the ruffled collar felt really thick and luxurious and I loved the playful, colorful print. Sadly, my shoulders were again just a bit too much to carry off such a fluttery neckline.

Last up, this bathing suit was really cute:

So what about you? Had you heard of the LoL arrival? Have you been to check it out, or have you found any Liberty of London goods that are not-to-be-missed at your Target? Do tell...

Bright, bright, sunshiny day

Photo from The Sartorialist

It's amazing to see what a difference a little sunshine makes, and oh was this weekend sunny. On Sunday as we walked downtown for lunch, our little city was like a whole new place. Not only was it shiny and bright instead of the constant gray we've been having, but there were people walking dogs, kids riding bikes, runners, sailors, and boats everywhere. B and I grabbed sandwiches to go (turkey and bacon for him, brie and apples for me, mmm) and sat outside watching the people go by. It was still a bit chilly at 51 degrees, but I could do with that over gray and 40s any day.

It's supposed to keep up this week and I can't wait! Hope you're having a bright, sunshiny day, even though it's Monday...

Have a great weekend!

I am in love with this photo from The Rockstar Diaries.

Today was temperate and sunny! For the first time in, like, forever. I even busted out my sunglasses on the way to lunch. A Friday and sunny - what's better than that? (Jeesh, low expectations, huh?) The best part is that it's supposed to be like this through the weekend - Sunday is even supposed to be in the 50s. Huzzah!

I have a very early morning Pilates reformer class tomorrow (it's free - woohoo!) and B has baseball practice on Sunday. Doesn't that sound sort of spring-y to you? I'm very excited. Perhaps we'll even get out our bikes at some point this weekend - wish I had stylin' bicycle glasses like the ones above to wear. :)

Here's wishing you a wonderful spring-ish weekend! See you Monday!

Happy birthday, Sara!

Today is someone's birthday. Guess who?

"Who me?"

Yep, that's right; it's the fabulous Ms. S - that's Sara with no H to you.

In honor of her joyous 29th birthday (an age we'll probably remain for the next 10 years or so...), I'd like to share a few things about my fun friend. I hope she doesn't kill me. So, without further ado, here are 10 things you may not know about Ms. McCrazy:

1. She's super fun.

2. She's obsessed with her Devon Rex, but deep down I think she's a dog lover too.

They kinda look related, no?

3. She makes a really good Mrs. Claus.

A dancing Mrs. Claus...

4. She's super sporty.

Who else could rock a helmet this nicely?

5. She and her boyfriend are hilarious together.

6. She likes to ride her bike in downtown Annapolis and Eastport.

Sometimes she swerves.

7. She can handle a gun.

8. She's a great dancer.

9. She is uber-smart.

Don't the glasses prove it?

10. She LOVES to sleep. And when she's ready to go to sleep, get out of her way! (No picture needed to prove this point. This is just fact.)

Bonus item: 11. She is an awesome friend.

Happy birthday, Somack! Have a great day today and see you at TGIFriday's for your birthday dinner (ha ha).
